Medical AI for South African doctors
Ask a clinical question, discuss a case or prepare a patient document. Ask Sphygmos combines clinical discussion with actions in your clinical workspace, so a useful answer can become an editable draft.
Clinical discussion with a clear purpose
Use Ask Sphygmos to explore differential diagnoses, evidence for and against possibilities, red flags and missing information. Start a general medical discussion without linking a patient, or choose the correct patient before using their context. You remain responsible for the assessment, verification of sources and clinical decision.
- Discuss a clinical question in detail, not just a short search answer.
- Ask which information would help distinguish the possibilities.
- Review recommendations against the patient and current clinical guidance.
Turn context into a draft you can check
A request such as "draft a referral for Sipho" can open the relevant in-app workflow. Prescription and document drafts remain editable. Review the patient identity, diagnosis, medication details and intended recipient before approving an output. Missing facts should be supplied by the doctor, not inferred from a generic clinical discussion.
- Draft scripts, referrals, sick notes and PMB motivations.
- Use the existing document editor and practice letterhead.
- Keep a general medical answer separate from a patient-specific instruction.
Evaluate medical AI on more than a fluent answer
A confident answer is not proof of accuracy. Check how the software handles uncertainty, incomplete records, consent, data processing and clinician review. Sphygmos is doctor-led clinical decision support, not an autonomous diagnosis service or a substitute for emergency assessment.
- Confirm the data-processing terms before entering patient information.
- Verify important clinical statements and source material.
- Use the product demo with fictional data before a clinical pilot.
Try clinical discussion and an action
- Open the demonstration practice.
- Ask a general medical question without linking a patient.
- Open a fictional patient record and inspect the available context.
- Try a document action and review the editable fields before any approval.
Questions doctors ask
Does Sphygmos diagnose patients automatically?
No. It supports clinical reasoning and differential diagnosis discussion. AI outputs can be incomplete or incorrect; the clinician must verify them and make the clinical decision.
How is this different from a general AI chatbot?
In addition to medical discussion, Sphygmos provides patient records, dictation, consultation recording and editable clinical-document workflows. Access to patient context depends on the patient selected and the information available in the app.
Is it only for private practice?
No. It is designed for South African doctors across private rooms, hospitals, clinics and public-sector services. Clinical tools can be useful without using invoicing, subject to your organisation's data policies and approvals.
